Erin Kotkowski, PsyD, LP

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and that healing and growth are ongoing journeys.

More About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Kotkowski, an independently licensed clinical psychologist. I provide therapy for individuals ages 17 and up, using an integrative approach that combines psychoeducation, skill-building, and a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can safely explore new or difficult thoughts and feelings.

Throughout my career, I’ve developed a particular passion for supporting women navigating reproductive health challenges. I’ve spent many years researching and working with individuals who have experienced mood disorders during pregnancy, the postpartum period, or trauma related to pregnancy, delivery, or reproductive functioning. In addition, I have extensive experience helping clients navigate the process of Gender Affirming Surgery, including conducting evaluations and supporting individuals throughout this important and personal journey.

My training has given me the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, from private practices to community-based agencies and university counseling centers. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Akron in Ohio, followed by master’s degrees in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Clinical Psychology, and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. I completed my predoctoral internship at Cleveland State University’s Counseling Center and my postdoctoral training at a private practice in Mentor, Ohio.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and that healing and growth are ongoing journeys.

In between sessions, I very much enjoy reading, crafts, D&D, and video games – psychologists can have a fun side, too!

You may get a sneak peek of my animals napping during your session, which includes my dog, Ein, and cats Nemo, Void, and Teddy.

As Carl Rogers once said, “The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.” My goal is to walk alongside you in that process and support you in building the life you want.
