Hi, I’m Michelle—a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 30 years of experience supporting children and teens in their social and emotional development. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Michigan State University (Go Green!) and my Master of Social Work from Wayne State University. I also hold a certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, which emphasizes de-escalation strategies rooted in empathy and compassion.
Throughout my career as a School Social Worker, I’ve worked with preschool, elementary, and secondary students, using a client-centered approach to meet individuals where they are. I specialize in helping children and adolescents navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and anger management.
My therapeutic style is grounded in connection, empathy, and collaboration. I integrate play therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and active listening to support clients in discovering healthier ways to express themselves and reach their goals. I believe all behavior is communication, and I work with clients to peel back the layers and uncover the source behind their actions.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my two teenage children, our two dogs, and a strong community of family and friends. I love being outdoors, reading, exploring new foods, and listening to thought-provoking podcasts.
