Group Therapy
Understanding Self & Others: An Interpersonal “Here-and-Now” Therapy Group for Young AdultsFacilitated by Dr. Jared Smendik, PsyD, LP
Why Join?
This weekly group offers young adults, typically between ages 20 and 30 (with some flexibility), a supportive and insight-focused environment to explore how they relate to friends, partners, family, and themselves. Using real-time (“here-and-now”) feedback, group members gain awareness of unhelpful interaction patterns and practice healthier, more effective ways of connecting with others.
Common themes addressed include:
- Relationship challenges (dating, family dynamics, friendships)
- Self-esteem and identity development
- Stress related to work, school, or life transitions
- Anxiety, mood concerns, and coping strategies
- Setting healthy boundaries and expressing needs clearly
