Dustin completed his doctoral work at Ball State University and his APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of North Carolina – Charlotte counseling center. He has trained in a variety of settings, including college counseling centers and residential treatment centers. Also, he has experience providing evidence-based therapy and court-ordered psychological evaluations for teenagers involved in the legal system.

Dustin works with clients from a variety of backgrounds and age groups. He treats clients who present with a range of concerns (including anxiety, depression, adjustment problems, anger management, communication problems, grief, Asperger’s, etc.). His specialty areas include therapy with teenagers and young adults, men's issues, as well as the following:

He works with individuals, couples, and families to assist clients in learning new skills they can use to improve their lives. Dr. Shepler assumes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy. He believes that the unique relationships he builds with each of his clients provides a safe space in which people can learn about themselves, develop new skills, and gain the support they need to improve their lives.
